The announcement of the 98th Academy Awards nominations this evening by Lewis Pullman and Danielle Brooks saw two films prevail. “Sinners” and “One Battle After Another” clearly prevailed over other contenders.

Their prevailing status emerged through comprehensive nomination lists across categories. Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” prevailed with recognition in directing, cinematography, production design, sound design, and multiple acting categories. The extensive acknowledgment validates the film’s excellence.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” prevailed equally through nominations in directing, adapted screenplay, acting, cinematography, and sound design. The film’s Golden Globes success continued with strong Academy support.

Other films announced as nominees include “Marty Supreme,” “Hamnet,” and “Sentimental Value.” The Best Picture category features ten films competing for cinema’s highest honor. Unfortunately, “Homebound” failed to prevail in any category.

Mark your calendars for March 15, when the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles hosts the 98th Academy Awards. The ceremony will air at 7 p.m. ET on ABC, where prevailing nominees will compete for Oscar victories.
