TOKYO, JAPAN – Hotel Okura Co., Ltd., a premier international Japanese hospitality operator, confirms the scheduled 2029 debut of The Okura Resort Hakone Gora. This property will mark the inaugural location in Japan under the newly established Okura Resort brand portfolio.
The development and ownership of the luxury resort are managed by Nishimatsu Construction Co., Ltd., under a comprehensive operations agreement executed with Hotel Okura on July 11, 2025.
Situated in Hakone’s highly desirable Gora district—a region drawing approximately 20 million annual visitors—the resort is strategically positioned to leverage the area’s celebrated natural hot springs and proximity to landmarks such as Mt. Myojogatake.

Designed by Curiosity Studio under the theme of “Forest Hideaway,” the facility boasts a total floor area of $9,650.84 text{ sqm}$. The property will feature 58 exclusive guest rooms distributed across two wings, each equipped with a private open-air bath sourced from Owakudani Hot Spring water.
Key amenities include a signature fine dining restaurant with a dedicated teppanyaki counter, an extensive thermal bathing area with saunas, multiple treatment rooms, and a sophisticated lobby lounge bar. The resort ensures convenient access for guests, being located near both Gora Station and the Naka-Gora cable car station.
