Mayor Igor Terekhov reported widespread property destruction in Kharkiv from Iranian-manufactured Shahed drone attacks. The drone strikes devastated residential complexes across the northeastern city, adding to cumulative destruction throughout the war. Property destruction has displaced thousands of residents.

In Abu Dhabi, common ground was being explored despite widespread property destruction in Ukraine. American, Russian, and Ukrainian representatives sought areas of agreement during two-day talks. The UAE foreign ministry stated the discussions represented “ongoing efforts to promote dialogue and identify political solutions to the crisis.”

President Zelensky announced that peace proposals were “nearly ready,” suggesting common ground had been identified. He proposed creating a free trade zone in eastern Ukraine under Kyiv’s control, offering an area of potential agreement. President Putin met with Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as all parties explored common ground.
