Stellar has played a pivotal role in the completion of UF Health Durbin Park, a significant health and wellness campus spanning 42.5 acres in St. Johns County, Florida. This development is positioned to enhance access to advanced medical services across Northeast Florida.
The first phase of UF Health Durbin Park features a three-story medical office building of 72,000 square feet and a five-story hospital covering 220,000 square feet. Both facilities are centrally located within the expanding Durbin Park community. Stellar was the primary construction manager for these projects, while the design was led by Gresham Smith.
The UF Health Durbin Park Medical Office Building 1 consolidates various specialty services, offering general surgery, gynecology, heart and vascular care, laboratory services, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, outpatient rehabilitation, pain management, and urology. Adjacent to this, the UF Health Durbin Park Hospital provides comprehensive care with 99 inpatient beds and a 24-hour emergency department. The hospital is equipped for acute, intensive, and emergency care, and includes operating rooms, advanced imaging, and hybrid laboratories for interventional procedures. Stellar managed this project in collaboration with Batson-Cook Construction.
In addition to these facilities, Stellar oversaw the construction of a standalone central energy plant that supplies essential infrastructure to the campus. This development is part of a broader $1 billion investment by UF Health Durbin Park, which is expected to generate around 2,000 jobs, catering to the healthcare needs of the rapidly growing population in St. Johns County and Jacksonville.
The completion of this campus marks another milestone in Stellar’s extensive engagement with major healthcare construction projects, further solidifying its partnership with UF Health.
